Can the Utilite Standard run Mint 17.2 or any of the Linux firewall distros? Utilite is actually running with Ubuntu out of the box.

How do I use Utilite as an Android device? All Utilite models come installed with Linux. To install Android the image can be downloaded and easily applied to the Utilite so that it runs KitKat.

Can I install other Linux distributions? Yes you can, but we have not tested these so considerable effort may be required to ensure all functionality is present depending on which you use.

Can I add extra storage? All Utilite models can accept a USB stick or a self powered external hard drive. All models accept Micro SD cards for additional storage, but the standard Utilite 8gb runs the OS off the SD card so if a storage upgrade is required, then an internal SSD can be added or the Micro SD card can be increased in size.

Are these products noisy as I want to use next to my TV? No they are completely silent at all times and there are no fans.

Can I add extra memory? No the memory cannot be upgraded. However, memory is primarily concerned with operating the Utilite and shouldn’t be confused with storage. All Utilite models work really well with the memory that is built in.

How hot do these units get? In normal operation they get warm but as with all devices such as these, when processing video and other intensive applications they can run much hotter. However, they are designed to work efficiently this way.
