Extended Temperature PCs for extreme environments
Computers that can withstand very cold or very hot conditions
As standard features, our fanless Intel and AMD PC's withstand already a wide operating temperature range: from 0° to +50°C (for HDD models) or +70°C (for SSD models). When very cold temperatures or drops of temperatures are involved, we recommend computers with extended or industrial temperatures:
● Extended Temperature (TE): -20°C +70°C (SSD models only)
● Industrial Temperature (TI): -40°C +70°C (SSD models only)
Hard disk drive (HDD) is not something we recommend as the drive will not be able to spin up and function at all under 0◦C. SDD and mSATA – which have no moving parts – are always safer on those cases. That’s why we offer extended and industrial temperatures on PC’s with SSD only.
Tests, Reliability & Range
Many models are available with extended or industrial temperatures such as Fitlet, FitPC, IntensePC, microSVR or Airtop and will come with our (usual & great) 5-year warranty. The fanless PC and its specific mechanical and electrical components will be tested in real conditions. For industrial temperatures (-40◦C to +70◦C), it will be as below:
● Power up at -40C in temperature chamber
● Stress test at room temperature
● Stress test at +70C in temperature chamber
Outdoor, humid and dirty environments
Our PCs are industrial-grade computers. They work smoothly under harsh environment, including very cold (food production lines for instance) or very hot (camera case under the sun) as well as under humid or dirty environments (dust).
Indeed, without fan and thanks to a smart and closed design, humidity between 10 and 90% and dust are no concern for our fanless PC's. They are very robust (we say fearless!) and come with a five-year warranty.
With a PC with “Industrial temperatures”, you will run your applications and software indoor or outdoor, from -40◦C to +70◦C. However, you should always discuss your applications with our team to check if your installation or your model is optimal or if your hardware could benefit from any additional protection such as against drops of water or theft's threats for example.
