TinyGreenPC's most power-efficient ever digital signage platform

Since 2008, TinyGreenPC has been helping companies improve their green credentials and reduce their energy usage, whilst providing ‘genius’ technical solutions that do the job better, faster and cheaper, making great long-term commercial sense. Until 2014 those solutions were all based on efficient, solid state fanless PCs, but now, to coin a phrase, for something completely different.

We have extended our digital signage media player portfolio with an ultra-low cost, yet fully professional platform hosted on a low cost Raspberry Pi computer. The new player complements the x86 based players, and offers a platform supporting SignageLive, and INSM content management systems for just £280. It draws just 7W, even less than the incredibly efficient Fit and Intense PCs can manage, and they are already amongst the most frugal in the industry.

The player is the result of a partnership with Silver Curve which has delivered a graphics engine that harnesses the full power of the wonderful Raspberry Pi graphics processor to display digital signage content quickly and smoothly. Features like multiple zones, multiple layers, smooth animation and cinematic effects such as depth of field are all integral to the player.

We are offering the Raspberry Pi based player fully cased as a Stand Alone Media Player or an OPS Media Player. Both can receive content via Ethernet or (optional) WiFi and render it to an attached screen of up to 1920 x 1080p (Full HD) resolution. The Stand Alone player is equipped with HDMI, RS-232, Ethernet, GPIO and USB 2.0 Interfaces.

The Raspberry Pi player really is an incredible proposition. A reliable and stable platform that can be managed using industry standard content management tools, matches PC graphics capability and uses less power than even our efficient fanless PCs – less than a tenth of the consumption of a regular PC. What’s not to like?
