Should I upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10?

Feb 23, 2017

Microsoft is pushing the market towards Windows 10 and has ended to pre-install Windows 7 Pro on PC since October, 2016. Should you get some licences when you still have the choice or should you move now to Windows 10? Although Windows 7 is a very stable and popular OS, we overall recommend our customers to consider Windows 10.

Why Is Windows 7 So Popular?

Over the years, we have noticed that Windows 7 is a very appreciated by our customers. This Operating System has been successful because of its stability (no major issue under the OS) and its friendly interface (easy to understand and to configure).

Latest CPU Won’t Support Windows 7

We overall recommend our customers to consider Windows 10. The first reason is that if you want a fanless PC with the last CPU generation, there’s a high probability that this PC will not support Windows 7 drivers.

It is the case for Intense PC3 with Kaby Lake CPU, our latest mini PC with the 7th Gen Intel Processor. AMD also announced their new CPU Ryzen will be compatible for Windows 10 only.

Windows 10 Offers Great Features

Second reason is that Windows 10 is faster (really fast start) and safer than Windows 7 (due to Microsoft securities – no need of an Antivirus). Windows 10 is also better as virtual desktop or for search engine and Cortana can be of great value in your workplace.
